Full Description:

A beautifully restored and fully furnished self catering cave-house, with all mod cons including free WIFI, is available for holiday rental and mini-breaks in the heart of the stunning unspoilt countryside of rural inland Andalucia in Southern Spain.

Hewn from the rock and set on the very edge of the small village of Fuente Nueva, near Orce in the province of Granada and with far reaching views to the mountains, the cave-house is in a wonderful location. Inside the ceilings are high and the rooms are airy and spacious, with most having natural light.

Sleeping up to 6, the cave consists of two double bedrooms, two sitting-rooms (one with open fire)( the other separate room can be made up with 2 single beds), dining room, kitchen and bathroom. A cot and hich chair are also available.

Outside is a good-sized garden with mature trees for shade, a table and chairs, recliners and a barbecue area.

The surrounding scenery is very varied, ranging from semi-desert, scrub-covered hills, cut through by fertile irrigated valleys, to high mountain ranges whose lower slopes are clad in vast pine forests. There are several natural parks in the area, where the possibilities for walking picnicking and observing the wildlife are virtually limitless.

Mountain bikes can be hired locally and there are fascinating guided walking and cycling tours available.Anyone interested in archaeology will find plenty to occupy them too, with the village and area famous for its archaeoligical finds. The towns in the region have numerous fiestas, one of the most interesting being Orce's two week long cultural festival in August.

Road access is excellent considering the untouched nature of the region. The cave is about 1½ hours from Granada airport and around 2 hours from Alicante and Murcia San Javier airports  the majority of the route being by dual carriageway.

We are pet friendly.

Nearby Attractions: The historic city of Granada is around one & a half hours drive away. Well worth a visit for its elegant squares & winding streets, Granada also boasts the world famous Alhambra, with its wonderfully preserved palace and the beautiful gardens. Above the city is the ski resort of the Sierra Nevada.
Less than half an hour away from the cave-house the dramatically sited castle at Velez Blanco has splendid views, and all the towns in the region offer street cafes and bars to sit and watch the world go by.
The nearest coast is around one and a quarter hours drive away at Aguilas, a typical Spanish resort and not over commercialised. Close by are numerous unspoilt beaches which are rarely crowded.
Closer to home, Orce and Huescar have natural spring swimming pools called Fuencaliente, where you can swim with fish! Walkers and narure lovers should be in their element, with endless opportunities for exploring the wilderness.
The area around Fuente Nueva, Venta Micena & Orce is becoming world famous as a site for archaeological discoveries. Each year students from around the world come to dig and to uncover the region's fascinating pre-history.
There is a Moorish castle in Orce and a palace close by houses remains from nearby archaeolgical digs.

Each town celebrates fiestas throughout the year. Orce's main ones are in January (San Anton y San Sebastian) and August.
