Property Overview: The house which was built in 1980 over an old wine cellar was renovated in 2005. It is a two storey building with the three bedroms and a bathroom on the first floor while the entrance, kitchen, dining, living, bathroom, and terrace are ground floor. It has a small garden (BB area) and a vineyard (about 7000 sq mt ). It is situated over a hill from where it commands fantastic scenery of the vineyards, forests and towns of the Podravje region. Full Description: Standing on a ridge overlooking the vineyards and the surrounding woods, this holiday reatreat is just 100 metres away from the village core i.e.the Post office the store the school the bus station etc. The nearest restuarant and wine bar is just 1km away. Several other wine bars and taaverns are scattered in the vicinity. While hospitality ,cuisine and famous local white wines are the main ingredients of this region, the country side and forests provide beautiful horse riding, hiking and biking routes. Several natural thermal spas can be found in this area. The Pahorje ski slopes are about 35 km away. Ryanair flies to Graz which is about 1.5 hrs drive from location while Easyjet.co flies to Ljublana which is about 2hrs drive from location. The rent a car man will transfer you to and from airports at a pre-agreed tariff. From June 2007 Ryanair started flying to Maribor airport regularly, which is about 50 km away. Nearby Attractions: Podravje occupies the fertile Drava and Ptuj flood plains, the hilly regions of Slovenske gorice to the north, Dravinja gorice and Haloze to the south, and the forested Pohorje mountain range to the west. The Drava river, one of the strongest rivers in Slovenia, is dammed at many locations for hydroelectric plants (Fala, Mariborski otok, Zlatolicje, Formin), creating large recreation lakes (Maribor Lake, Ptuj Lake, Ormoz Lake). Exceptional locations in the hills, a mild climate, and favourable soil conditions have enabled the production of top quality white wines that are matured in large wine cellars in Maribor, Ptuj, and Ormoz. On the lower slopes of the Pohorje mountain range above the regional center and university city of Maribor , Slovenia’s second largest city, there is winter stadium for women’s World Cup slalom competitions and recreational skiing. Ptuj, the Roman Poetovio, is a living museum and the oldest city in Slovenia.Ormož forms a part of the winegrowing district of the Slovenske gorice Hills. Here, on the diverse hilly area with excellent vineyard positions and undoubtedly the most beautiful winegrowing veduta in the country the winegrowers produce the famous wines as Renski Rizling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Šipon, Laški Rizling, Beli Pinot, Sivi Pinot, Traminec, Zeleni Silvanec, Muškat Otonel, Rumeni Muškat, which have won awards at the renewed international wine competitions. Ormož is a water town as well – the Drava River with the Ormož Lake have the predicate of the internationally recognised and ornithological important area (IBA) in Europe, where in the winter time one can watch even 20.000 water birds.
