In the summer the waters are a startling bright turquoise colour. The lake is situated within 1 km of the villa and is easily reached offering Various restaurants and hot mineral spring areas around the lake and dam. This villa has parking space for several vehicles, and is fully landscaped, with some areas laid to lawn. The Pool house/Guest house, comprises of 1 bedroom, a lounge, a kitchenette and a shower room/wc, fully independent from the main villa. The property is equipped with solar electric power and petrol generator for emergency use, and has mains water supply. The grounds have a high perimeter fence and large gates. There are four other properties neighbouring this villa, and the owners are English and friendly. The nearest villages are only 2-3 km away, and 20 km to nearest large town of Baza ( pronounced Batha) The main motorways for access to Almeria, Malaga, Madrid etc are within 8-10 km. All the main road systems in this area are superb.
Nearby Attractions: Freila is close to the A7 motorway, running the length of Spain. It has easy access to airports and cities. Malaga, Alicante, Murcia and Granada (now international) airports can all be used. Ryanair and Monarch fly daily from Gatwick, Liverpool and Stanstead and internal flights with Iberia from Madrid, Barcelona or Mallorca. Freila is a charming whitewashed Andalucian village. It has panoramic views over the stunning Lake Negratin, and from your new home you can see the fabulous Negratin reservoir. Three minutes’ drive will take you to the man made beach where you can enjoy various water sports such as canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, fishing or just pass the day enjoying the stunning views of the unspoilt landscape. For the adventurous, the Sierra Nevada ski resort is an hour’s drive away, as is the coastal town of Mojacar and the all year round hot springs in Zujac. Just a fifteen minute drive is the town of Baza. The city of Granada is 106 km away. There are just over 1000 people living in Freila. The cave dwellings make up the majority of the old part of the village. There is a doctor’s surgery and the hospital in the area is second to none. There is a primary school. The village has plenty of local shops for all your daily shopping, banking, swimming pool, library, bars and restaurant and Baza (16 km away) has a street market on Wednesdays
