It has a sub-tropical climate which has attracted population since pre-history. The Romans built a fort here but unfortunately it no longer remains. The history of the village is pictured in 12 mosaics in the old quarter, created by Pilar Garcia Millan. As you enter Frigiliana park at the bottom - don't be tempted to drive into the heart of the village, you will end up getting stuck and very frustrated.
