The house is situated in a quiet area on the outskirts of the town and only a 10 minute walk from the Place de la Republic at the centre of Limoux and the River Aude that flows through the area.
The town of Limoux is a cultural delight as well as being very picturesque, with something going on every week throughout the year, from it's world famous Carnaval de Limoux held from December to late March to the many musical and staged events in the Place de la Republic.
Surrounded by rolling hills set against the nearby Pyrenees, this area of the France has something for everyone
Full Description: This modern home which sleeps 8 is situated on the outskirts of the picturesque town of Limoux which sits aside the Aude River and is located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, close to Carcassonne. Accomodation Details
The home which is built into a bank is on several half levels (3 to 6 steps between levels).
Entrance Floor consists of the Kitchen and Lounge/Diner. Stairways lead up to two of the bedrooms and the main Bathroom. Steps also lead down to the other two bedrooms and the second Bathroom (Shower). One further stairway leads to the top floor room. Bedrooms. are all of a good size and furnished to a high standard. Rental includes all bed linen and towels and each bedroom has a large built in wardrobe.
Baby Bed. There is a cot for real small guests which is currently situated in the top floor room but can be moved to other bedrooms if required.
The Kitchen is fully functional and contains everything you need to prepare and serve meals or drinks. Leading off the kitchen is a balcony at the front of the house which looks out towards the rolling hills.
The Lounge has comfortable leather settees and there is a TV/DVD/Video setup with which you can view French TV, Video or DVD and even the BBC. There is also a large & wide range of DVDs/videos available for guest entertainment. The Lounge also contains a wood burning stove set into the fireplace that is the hub for the radiator central heating system.
Internet & Phone. Wireless Broadband and VOIP phone is available for guest use. Take advantage of the wireless connection or use the laptop computer that is installed at the house, contact owner for details. The Patio. The garden/patio area extends all around the home and the property is fenced/screened from adjacent properties. Garden furniture including a barbeque is available for use on the patio. These are stored currently in the garage.
Utilities. A Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer are available in the garage for guest use.
Extra Items. The house contains other additional items to make your travel and stay as comfortable as possible so no need to bring a Hairdryer, Travel Iron etc, etc, although we do ask you to bring your own beach towels if you are planning to go to the beach.

Limoux is a thriving local community and the majority of the homes in the area are owned by people who live and work in the area. Throughout the year there are festivals of all kinds which are run for the entertainment of the locals rather than being outright tourist attractions. In the main there is no charge and no contributions for all these events apart from taking part and enjoying them.
You can expect the warmest of welcomes wherever you go, and you will find simple politeness goes a long way here.

The town boasts a number of good restaurants as well as large selection of Café bars. The wide choice of shops mean you do not have to leave the town for any reason but then you would miss everything that this amazing area has to offer.
If you like sparkling wine try the Blanquette Limoux everyone who visits say how much they like it. To set you on the right path you will find a complimentary bottle awaiting you in the fridge. Santé! (Health)
There are four Supermarkets on the outskirts of town (Intermarche & L'Clerc) on the road towards Carcassonne and another two (Supermarchè &Lidl) on the road towards Quillen & Perpignan. All are generally open until 7pm. If you have never visited a supermarket in France before you will be amazed the range is extensive, the products are fresh and the smell of good wholesome food is something that is sadly no longer available in UK Supermarkets.
Alternatively use the variety of other smaller shops in the town and buy your food from the local businesses which are predominately family owned. Good way of improving your language skills and you will be blending in just nicely although you will in most cases have to use cash. Friday is the Market Day and the different markets areas are located in the town centre
